Final words – CW Hosts farewell lunch
Held on Friday October 28, 2022, CW hosted a luncheon for honoring its Legacy Committee Members.
Here is toast offered by long time member and Board Chairperson, Craig Norberg-Bohm:
Hello and welcome!
CW was founded in 1981 – 40 strong years ago!And I personally joined in 1991 or thereabouts, when I was then representing Emerge, a program for DV intervention.
I fell in love and we’ve been going steady even since!
I met Judy Norsigian and Irv Zola
Kevin Cathchart and Fran Froehlich
I met Deb Furry, who was our director at the time
Since then we have been through thick and thin together
Rose to 32 members and declined to 12
For a total of 73 members in our 40 years.Held a record high season of $333k in the year 2006
And sadly, our income then declined ever since. But, oh boy, not for lack of trying!!
Not only have we operated almost 40 payroll deduction campaign seasons,
And reached out to hundreds of major donors every single year.
We also met quarterly as a board
Monthly as a steering committee
Annually we met in a retreat as a whole groupWe held numerous community events including
Tabling at summer fairs
Held Comedy shows with Wendy Leibman
And Jazz shows with Rebecca Paris
We ran our own awards and auction events, giving out all sorts of appreciationsAnd our estimated total campaign income is whopping $4.5M
Many people have come, people have gone, and some have sadly passed away,. Its been 40 good years.
Lets raise a glass to good works past and future, and relationships well done.
To Social Justice!!
